Who are you? Who am I?
I am a random kid you see in the streets. I always wear jeans. I have a family. I went to school when I was younger. I have ups and downs. I have feelings and I don’t keep it in. I eat and live. I work but I get tired. I love to play. I love birds and trees. I like it when it’s raining and no one’s watching so I can play in the rain. Sometimes I hold grudges. I’m irritable. I hate it when someone gives me orders like I’m the only person on earth. I hate it when people try to criticize me when they don’t know who I am. I love strawberry. I love music. I hate haters. Sometimes I hate myself. Sometimes I get confused. Most of the time I follow whats on my mind but I always end up as a mess. Or at least I thought. Sometimes I get attention I don’t really expect. I have friends. They said they love me. There are people protecting me. I am not alone. But sometimes I do feel alone. I am someone…
Do I sound like someone you know? That’s a typical “About Me” section of a random person. But that’s not all there is. Who Am I? Really. Ask yourself. We’re just… mere humans? We love, we hate, we forgive. We live, we work, we die. We do the things we want to more than the things we need to. Well that applies to most people nowadays. What I’m trying to point out is this: What’s so special in us?
I don’t see anything special. Or at least nothing too special that causes someone to die for us. Don’t you think? Are we to die for? Well I don’t know about you, but when I look at myself in the mirror, I’m not worth someone to die for me. For the things I have done are according to my will. I did everything I wanted to do. I’m accountable for all the things I’ve done. But to think, my life has been a mess. And to give up my life as a sacrifice for all the wrong things I’ve done, won’t be enough. Why? Cause I’m not worth it either.
My life, your life, our lives are not enough to pay for all the wrong things we have committed. We are all guilty of something, aren’t we? Yes we are. But guess what? Something great happened. The Mighty One who forgives, the Father or all creation so loved the world and He gave His only begotten Son – Jesus.
Jesus lived a life like what we have. He suffered the same things we did. But Jesus was perfect and never sinned. He was the Only One worthy to give up His life for us. That is to pay for our sins and save from death and eternal damnation.
Aren’t we thankful? I believe this truth. Why? Cause this has happened 2010 years ago. And it was part of our history. If I believed in our national heroes there’s no reason for me to reject this. In fact, this is the biggest event that has changed the world – that is – when Jesus died and we were all saved. But that doesn’t mean everyone on earth were saved the moment He died. He asks us of one thing – that is – for us to believe in Him. That’s not the hardest thing to do. But as you can see – there are so many people still confused about this fact and they even consider this as a myth when all the records show that this has happened.
But, whatever their reasons might be, nothing changes this fact. And I will always believe in it. How about you?
